It's the espresso cups. Marty and I were drinking espresso from two special cups we picked up the last time we were in Italy and that took us back to one of our favorite places.
My cup is from the Hotel Pupetto in Positano on the Amalfi Coast. We were with Andy and Kathy and the first part of the trip was a great unwind in a wonderful setting with dear friends. Marty's cup is from Bar Tiberio on Capri, where we all spent the day wandering and ended up in the square to people-watch. From there, we traveled up to Tuscany where our "home base" was an apartment on the working farm - Tenuta di Mensanello. Then off to explore busy Rome and finally Vevey, Switzerland on Lake Geneva.
All that brings back other wonderful memories ... Scott & Holley's wedding day. We were in the train station in Zurich when I heard the start of a familiar song that made me feel happy. Hmmm, what is it? When the words started, I quickly remembered. "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong was the song that Scott and I danced to at their wedding. That was a great day! And we left for our adventure in Italy five days after that.
And all that was just a month after Brian, Julie and Abby welcomed happy Grant into the world!
Scott and Holley will celebrate their third anniversary this year! Happy Birthday, Grant! And I'm ready to go back to Italy!
